Make sure that after you dip into the alcohol you put the spreader into the flame pointing down so that the alcohol does not run towards your had. Sometimes the flame is hard to see on the glass rod so DO NOT put the glass spreader back into the alcohol, some do this to be sure things are sterilized, until you are sure the flame has gone out or you will light your alcohol container on fire.and yes I have seen this happen Make sure to put the alcohol in a container that can be covered in case you need to extinguish an accidental fire. It is also important to calculate exact cfuml. ![]()
